Industry veteran comes from Salesforce to lead Stitch Fix engineering team
San Francisco, CA (Nov. 1, 2016) – Stitch Fix, the leading online personal styling service, today announced that Cathy Polinsky has joined as the company’s Chief Technology Officer. She now leads the engineering team at Stitch Fix and will help the company scale its systems and deliver services that delight clients and expand the business.
An industry veteran with almost two decades of experience, Cathy was most recently an SVP of Engineering at Salesforce, overseeing the company’s search initiatives. In addition to her seven years in senior engineering leadership at Salesforce, Cathy has built robust, large-scale systems and led engineering teams at industry powerhouses like Oracle, Yahoo! and Amazon. In 2015, Cathy was named to Business Insider’s 2015 list of the most powerful women engineers in the world.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Cathy to the team,” said Stitch Fix Founder and CEO, Katrina Lake. “Stitch Fix is a new approach to commerce and as a result, we have had to build our own tools and apps to support everything we do, from building a stylist platform and customer interface, to creating unique warehouse capabilities and inventory planning tools. The strength of our engineering team has been a critical part of our rapid growth and we are excited for Cathy to take us to the next level.”
“Stitch Fix’s engineering team has built technology to solve a wide range of challenges across the company, from delivering an amazing client experience to supporting the styling, merchandising and operations teams,” said Polinsky. “The company has brought true innovation to the retail industry and seen tremendous growth in a few short years. I’m honored to lead such a talented engineering team as Stitch Fix continues to expand and evolve.”
“We’re proud to have women well-represented throughout our leadership team, board of directors and employee population,” added Lake. “Cathy’s addition as CTO reflects our commitment to developing women in technical fields including engineering and data science and maintaining diversity at Stitch Fix.”
