  • We recognize there is significant work to do to promote a more equitable and diverse retail landscape, work that we are committed to being a part of. In order to accelerate change within our industry and our own vendor base, we made a commitment to pledge our resources to help grow, mentor, and support underrepresented entrepreneurs.

Today, October 1, we are excited to launch and begin accepting applications for Elevate: a grant and mentorship program designed to support Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) entrepreneurs in fashion at an early stage of business growth. The program will provide financial grants and mentor entrepreneurs using our art and science approach to share resources, unique data insights and expertise to help grow their business.

Five recipients will receive monthly advisory support based on their expressed interests, ongoing support from our Algorithms team, a mentorship session with our Founder and CEO, Katrina Lake, amplification on our marketing channels and orders for their product to be sold on Stitch Fix.

We are excited and honored to be partnering with industry trailblazer, Harlem’s Fashion Row (HFR) and its Founder and CEO, Brandice Daniel, for the launch of Elevate. Founded in 2007, the organization provides a platform for multicultural designers, and brings over a decade of experience in supporting diverse emerging talent. HFR serves as an advisor on all phases of the program and Brandice Daniel will sit on the grant’s selection committee and provide a mentorship session with each of the five recipients.

These efforts are part of our broader social impact vision to create a more sustainable and equitable world. We are excited to support the next generation of BIPOC entrepreneurs in fashion and share their stories with our communities.
